Project Description:

The District acquired 10.34 acre site that is in the southeast corner of Sesnon Boulevard and Mason Avenue in the city of Porter Ranch. This development is intended to relieve Castlebay and Germain Elementary Schools and Frost and Lawrence Middle Schools. The Project will accommodate 1,047 seats in K-8 forty-one (41) classrooms in approximately 109,462 sf. of structure. This school consists of two small learning communities that include classrooms, science labs, and academy administration. Both facilities will share performing arts classrooms, a library, multi-purpose room, gymnasium, food service and lunch shelter, central administration, playfields, and surface parking.

VCA’s Role:

VCA Engineers provided complete civil engineering services for the onsite improvements which included Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. Design site storm water management using site sustainable design methods and Standards for Urban Storm Water Mitigation Plan (SUSMP). Design new site utilities (potable, irrigation and fire water, storm drain lines, and sanitary sewer) from new building to main points of connection at the streets. In addition, VCA also provided construction administration services during the construction phase.
