Project Description:

The Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) intends to modernize or replace 62 elevators and escalators at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). A comprehensive study has been completed to establish guidelines and recommendations identifying the extent of the work required to bring the Vertical Transportation (VT) units up to current code. This renovation will apply safety standards while also improving the aesthetics and passenger flow at LAX. This project is a long-term Capital Improvement Project (CIP) and the design portion for this initial phase is expected to be approximately 475 days.
