The Los Angeles Fire Department intends to construct a new headquarters complex capable of centralizing the Fire District’s administrative operations. Located on a wooded hilltop, the new project would allow the Fire District to consolidate their five bureaus into a single 185,000 square foot building which should improve efficiency and communication. Additional components of the $80 million project include a 396-stall parking structure, new access road, and miscellaneous site improvement. The project is sustainably designed and will be LEED-certified by USGBC.
VCA provided multiple on-site improvements such as: design of paving, grading and drainage (ADA-compliant) of the site including vehicular and pedestrian access areas, planting areas and area between buildings, finished floor elevation of all new buildings, design of site storm water management using site sustainable design methods and Standards for Urban Storm Water Mitigation Plan (SUSMP), as well as design of new site utilities (potable, irrigation and fire water, and sanitary sewer) from new building to main points of connection at the street.
