Project Description:

The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works (LADPW) and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD), working in cooperation with Los Angeles Chief Executive Office (LACEO), identified the expansion of the Mira Loma Detention Facility as one way to relieve overcrowding and provide interim capacity to allow the renovation of the Men’s Central Jail.

VCA’s Role:

The scope of work include, but not limited to, the following: 1) review initial data as provided by the architect such as architectural site plan, topographical survey, utility investigation reports, as-built drawings, and soils report, 2) attend kick-off meetings, 3) facilitate site visits and note existing conditions, 3) perform initial investigation of existing utilities, 4) perform determination, compilation, and research on the ownership or jurisdictional agency of the existing utilities, 5) prepare a summary report outlining existing utilities at the site, 6) assist in developing Site Alternatives based on site and existing utility analysis, and 7) assist in quantity takeoff for cost analysis.
