Project Description:

The Rosemead Boulevard Safety Enhancements & Beautification Project is moving closer to reality in the Temple City. The City has a $ 10 million budget available to use for the design and construction of this project. The project is city limit to city limit along Rosemead Boulevard (i.e., between the Railroad Crossing on the south and Callita Street on the north). The proposed improvements and enhancement includes: sidewalks, bus pads, curb ramps, driveways, SUSMP, existing sump pump analysis, median islands, bulb-outs and accent nodes to name a few.

VCA’s Role:

VCA’s scope of work included Civil Engineering Services for the project, such as providing topographical and boundary surveying of the sites; obtaining spot elevations at changes in grade, flow lines and top of curbs. VCA provided street plans and profile that will show the longitudinal and transverse slopes and location of all replaced sidewalks, driveways, bus pads and access ramps. Provided design elevations for paving and grading, ADA compliance for new sidewalk and all curb ramps. VCA was responsible for all the coordination with City and Utility owners regarding the existing utilities for all the affected surface features. VCA also designed the roadway as a “green street” discharging clean water and also relocating the median islands to accommodate a bike lane.
