Project Description:

A new Type VB sprinkled single family residence is intended to be constructed on a 42,798 square feet lot. The proposed 2-story building with basement will have a residential floor area of 16,887 sq. ft. and the guest house with approximately 2,000 sq. ft. The owner’s property spans two jurisdictions, the main house will be constructed under Los Angeles Jurisdiction and the guest house will be in West Hollywood Jurisdiction.

VCA’s Role:

VCA provided civil and structural engineering services for the on-site improvements. These improvements include: demolition of existing site structures, hardscape and landscape, grading for drainage, utility disconnections and re-connections for sanitary sewer, potable and fire water, horizontal and vertical control for the new improvements, storm water management for low impact development (LID) separate construction documents to be submitted to the City of Los Angeles and City of West Hollywood and coordination with architect and the City of Los Angeles and West Hollywood. In addition, VCA develop framing plans for evaluation by the owner, develop lateral load resisting systems for evaluation and assist with coordinating framing plans with general requirements of the Architectural and MEP disciplines for the purpose of evaluating system viability.
