Project Description:

The century-old UCSF Medical Center complex at Mission Bay stretches across 14.5 acres. With the increased inpatient and outpatient demand this 289-bed complex will feature three separate hospitals, specializing in serving children, women, and cancer patients, as well as a green energy center and a helipad. The facility will expand in terms of both volume and patient facilities while complying with increased earthquake safety standards mandated by the State of California. The UCSF Medical Center will ultimately be a showcase for the latest technology.

VCA’s Role:

VCA provided administrative and design support for the following: Increment 2, Segment 2.1 Elevators, Fire Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, BMS Drawing volumes 1 of 4 and 4 of 4, Increment 2, Segment 2.4 Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm, Vertical supports and Seismic Anchorage/Bracing Drawing volumes 6 of 7 and 7 of 7 and Increment 2, Segment 3 PTS, BMS, Elevator Drawing volume 1 of 1 with related calculations essential for the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) to effectively accomplish the department’s mission and to operate within the requirements.
