Long Beach Airport Terminal Area Improvements

Description

The project consisted of new construction and alterations to existing terminal facilities at the Long Beach Airport. The work covered a floor area of about 45,913 SF with 8,163 SF remodeled space. Construction performed in this project followed the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) prepared to address improvements made to the airport. New construction included enclosed conditioned space i.e., hold rooms, airside restrooms, and concession tenant spaces, and covered non-conditioned areas i.e., canopies connecting hold rooms and existing terminals. The existing south terminal was remodeled for use as a passenger screening checkpoint. The engineering services covered were conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, assistance to the City during bidding and negotiation, and project administration and management phases.
