Caltech Linde + Robinson Laboratory for Global Environmental Science

Description

To address the complex issue of global climate change from a wide range of disciplines, Ronald and Maxine Linde established an $18 million endowment for the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) to create the Ronald and Maxine Linde Center for Global Environmental Science, uniting faculty from chemistry, engineering, geology, environmental science, and other fields. Caltech intended to provide building rehabilitation for the existing Robinson Laboratory Building. The goal of the renovation was to achieve a LEED NC Platinum Certification using Version 2.2. Accordingly, site work involving ADA compliance and grading involving Storm Water Management with LEED compliance was required for the area around and near the building. In addition, new wet service utilities for fire water, domestic water, storm water, and sanitary sewer was necessary to support the new usage of the building.
