Description

The project involves the construction of a 500,000 square feet detention center to expand and replace the existing Indio county jail and riverside sheriff's department. The new facility will be constructed in two phases and will result in a 1,626-bed facility. The first phase will include the construction of a three-story support building containing inmate intake, transfer, and release areas, medical clinics, a full service kitchen with food storage, and an extension of an existing below grade tunnel. The second phase will construct a four-story structure consisting of two housing units with mezzanines levels.
